Shrimp Masala Thokku

Ingredients ground to a smooth paste
Red chillies-6
Khus Khus-1/2tsp
Coconut-6tsp
Ginger & Garlic paste-1tsp
Cloves-4
Cinnamon-1/2''
Fennel seeds(Somph)-1tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Other ingredients
Frozen shrimp-2 cups
Salt to taste
Chopped onion-1/2
Chopped tomato-1 big
Tempering
Oil-6tsp
Mustard-1tsp
Curry leaves-little
Method
Heat oil in a pan temper it.Fry onion till light brown in colour,now add tomato & the ground masala.Fry it till oil separates the sides of the pan.Add shrimp & pour little water & cook it till cooked & dry.Garnish it with curry leaves & serve it as a side dish.
Note:Vegetarians can replace shrimp with potato......

Shrimp & Methi leaves Pulusu

Ingredients
Frozen Shrimp-40 nos.
Frozen Methi- 2 cubes
Chopped Onion-1/2
Chopped Garlic-5
Curry leaves-little
Chopped tomato-1
Chilly powder-1 & 1/2tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Tamarind paste-1tsp
Tempering
Oil-4tsp
Methi-1/4tsp,Mustard -1tsp & Jeera-1/2tsp
Method
Heat oil in a pan temper it.Fry onion,garlic,tomato & curry leaves till light brown colour.Add all the dry ingredients fry till raw smell goes.Add shrimp,methi leaves & tamarind paste diluted in water.Cook it till its done & thick .Serve it with hot rice.

Spicy Shrimp Vadai

This is a very easy & tasty vadai with very few ingredients.....




Ingredients
Frozen shrimp-35nos.
(thaw & make a coarse paste in mixi without water)
Chopped onion & Mint-1tbsp
Ginger paste-1/4tsp
Red chilly paste-2tsp
Salt to taste
Curry powder-1/4tsp
Oil-to deep fry
Corn flour-2tsp
Besan just for binding
Bread crumbs for dusting(Optional)
Method
Mix all above ingredients together(do not add any water).Take a small ball flatten it dust it with bread crumbs & deep fry it in medium flame till golden brown.Serve it with ketchup.

Shrimp Chilly Flakes & Garlic fry

Ingredients
Shrimp-1/4 pound
Chilly flakes-4tsp or more
Coriander powder-1/4tsp
Crushed garlic-8 to 10
Crushed ginger-1/4tsp(optional)
Curry leaves-little
Onion & Tomato-each 1tbsp
Garam masala-1/4tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Lime juice-1tsp
Oil-2tbsp
Method
Heat oil in a pan add the onion,tomato,curry leaves & garlic.Fry it till light brown.Add shrimp & other ingredients.Fry it well till its brown in colour & cooked(in medium high flame).Garnish it with curry leaves & lime juice .

Shrimp Chukka Fry


Ingredients to Crush it in Mixi
Onion-1
Ginger & Garlic paste-1tbsp
Fennel seed-1tsp
Salt to taste
Chilly powder-1/4tsp
Coriander powder-1/2tsp
Pepper-2tsp
Garam masala-1/4tsp
Other ingredients
Shrimp-1/2 pound
Chopped tomato-1
Curry leaves-little
Oil-1tbsp
Method
Heat oil fry the crushed ingredients till raw smell goes away.Add the shrimp & tomato,fry it till its cooked & brown in colour.Fry it till dry.Garnish it with curry leaves.

Shrimp Coconut Fry

Ingredients
Shrimp-2 cups
Oil-2tsp
Mustard-1/2tsp
Jeera-1tsp
Curry & Coriander leaves
Grind to a smooth paste
Coconut-2tbsp
Onion-1/4
Garlic-6
Fennel seeds-1tsp
Pepper-1tsp
Salt to taste
Chilly powder-1/2tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Garam masala-1/2tsp
Method
Heat oil in a pan temper it with mustard & jeera.Now add the shrimp & ground paste fry a bit.Sprinkle very little water cover & cook it till oil separates the masala.Garnish it with curry & coriander leaves

Shrimp & Peas Gravy


Ingredients
Shrimps -2 cups
Peas-1 cup
Onion chopped-1
Tomato chopped-1
Ginger & Garlic paste-1tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Salt to taste
Chilly powder-1tsp
Coriander leaves-little
Oil-2tsp
Cloves-2,Cardamom-1,Cinnamon-1/4''
(Whole Spices)
Method
Heat oil in a pan temper it with whole spices.Add the onion fry till light brown.Add tomato,ginger & garlic paste.Fry till tomatoes are mashed well.Now add all dry powders,shrimp & peas.Pour very little water ,cover & cook it till done.Garnish it with coriander leaves.

Crispy shrimp

Ingredients for marination
Frozen shrimp-40
( I used cooked & deveined salad shrimp)
Salt to taste
Chilly powder to your taste
Garam masala-1/4tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Maida-1tsp
Corn flour-1tsp
Bread crumbs to coat the shrimp
Oil-to shallow fry
Method
Marinate the shrimp with above ingredients in fridge for 10 minutes.Heat oil in a pan & shallow fry it.Serve it with ketchup or any dip of your choice.
Variation
Instead of shrimp you can also do with mushroom.

Macaroni Shrimp Biriyani


Ingredients
Elbow Macaroni cooked with salt & 1tsp of oil-3 cups
Coconut milk-1/4 cup(optional)
Shrimp-1 & 1/2 cup
Sliced onion-1
Chopped tomato-2
Green chillies slit-5
Ginger,Garlic & Fennel seed paste-1 & 1/2tsp
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Mint leaves-one handful
Oil-6tsp
Curd-1tbsp
Cloves-4,Cardamom-4,Cinnamon-1,Bay leaf-1,Mace-1
Method
Heat oil in a pan add the spices.Fry the onions,green chillies,ginger,garlic,fennel seed paste & mint till light brown.Add the dry masalas ,shrimp & curd close & cook it till done.Add the macaroni & mix it well..Serve it with raita.

Turnip & Shrimp fry


Ingredients
Turnip chopped-2
Onion chopped-1/2
Tomato chopped-1
Garlic crushed-4
Curry & corriander leaves-little
Dry shrimp or fresh shrimp-1/4cup
Chille powder-1/2tsp
Corriander powder-1tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Tempering
Oil-4tsp
Mustard-1/2tsp
Jeera-1/4tsp
Uraddhal-1/4tsp
Method
Heat oil in a kadai temper it.Add other ingredients one by one.Fry it well till raw smell goes.Pour little water,cover & cook it till done.Garnish it with curry & corriander leaves.This is a dry dish.
Tips
You can use other vegetables like brinjal,bottle gourd or cabbage instead of turnip.

Cabbage & Dry shrimp fry


My Mom usually combines Non.veg with any vegetables.We are used eating this way.i have shared one of the item like that,try it .
Ingredients
Shredded cabbage-2 cups
Dry Shrimp(i usually use sm.shrimp)-1/2cup
Salt to taste
Onion-1/2
Tomato(optional)-1
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Chille powder-1tsp
Dhania powder-2tsp
Curry leaves little
Garlic chopped-6
Tempering
Mustard-1/2tsp
Jeera-1/2tsp
Uraddhal-1/4tsp
Oil-4tsp
Method
Heat oil in a pan ,temper it.Fry onion,tomato, garlic,dry masalas & shrimp till brown.Add the cabbage,sprinkle water & clook till done.Garnish it with curry leaves.this goes very well with rice.
Variation
You can replace other veg. like brinjal,Bottle gourd,Radish,cluster beans instead of cabbage.You can replace shrimp with any ground meat (Keema).
