Masala Cheese Sticks

Ingredients to marinate the string cheese
String cheese cut into half-3
Chilly powder-1/2tsp
Roasted jeera powder-1/2tsp
Coriander powder-1/4tsp
Salt to taste
Curd-1tsp
Garam masala-a pinch
Other ingredients
Maida to dust -little
Egg beaten for wash-1
Bread crumbs to roll-little
Oil to deep fry
Method
Marinate the cheese string with all above ingredients for 10 minutes.Dust each piece in flour,then dip in egg & immediately roll it completely with bread crumbs.Deep fry it in medium flame till golden colour on all sides.Serve it with ketchup.
Note:Make sure that the cheese is rolled out evenly otherwise the cheese will start melting out.

A Trip To Turkey

My friend's hubby had gone to Turkey for 2 weeks,I am sharing some of the picture sent to me.I am not very familiar with the dishes names.He told me they had displayed 45 varieties of desserts in the buffet.Pl.see & enjoy........


































Avocado Raita

Ingredients
Avocado mashed-1
Green chillies-1
Coriander leaves-little
Curd beaten-1 cup
Salt to taste
Tempering
Oil-1/4tsp
Mustard,Jeera,Uraddhal-little
Curry leaves
Hing-a pinch
Method
Grind green chillies & coriander leaves to a smooth paste.Mix all ingredients together.Temper it.Serve it cold.

Mutton-400gms
Palak/Spinach Puree-1/4 bunch
(I used pasalai keerai)
Salt to taste
Chilly powder-1/2tsp
Coriander powder-1/4tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Green chillies-4
Kitchen king/Garam masala-1/4tsp
Tempering
Oil-5tsp
Cinnamon-1/4''
Cardamom-2
Cloves-3
Bay leaf-1
Whole pepper-8
Jeera-1/2tsp
Ingredients ground to a coarse paste
Onion-1/2
Tomato-1/2
Ginger & Garlic paste-1tsp
Method
Heat oil in a pan temper it.Add the ground paste & fry till raw smell goes & its light brown in colour.Add the dry ingredients & fry.Add the palak puree & fry for 2 more minutes.Add mutton ,needed water& pressure cook till done.Serve it hot with roti ,plain rice or pulao.
Note:You can also make this dish with chicken.

Deviled Eggs

Ingredients
Boiled eggs -2
(cut into half & yolk removed)
Pickled Jalapeno chopped -1
Mayonnaise-1tsp
Cottage cheese-1 tsp
Salt & Pepper to taste
Dijon mustard-2 drops
Chopped capsicum & red chilly powder for garnish Method
Mix all above ingredients together.Fill it in the eggs & keep in fridge for 5 minutes.Before serving garnish it with capsicum & red chilly powder.

Note:You can also replace egg yolk instead of cottage cheese.But i like the cottage cheese filling.This dish has to be served cold.

Oats Apple Crunch



Ingredients
Apple-1
(seeds removed & cut into 8 thick slices)
Pancake syrup/Maple Syrup or Sugar syrup-1/3 cup
(I used Pancake syrup)
Instant coffee powder-1/4tsp
Cinnamon powder-less than 1/4tsp
Quick oats-1/2 cup
Butter cut into small bits-8
Method
Mix pancake syrup,cinnamon & coffee powder together.Give a boil & keep it aside.Dip each apple slices both sides & roll it in oats.Arrange it on a baking tray.Place a bit of butter or brush it with melted butter on top of each slice & bake it at 300 deg C for 15 minutes or till slightly crisp.

Doodh Peda (Milk Sweet)

Ingredients
Milk powder-2 cups
Condensed milk-1 tin(14oz)
Butter-10 tsp
Cardamom powder-1tsp
Saffron-a pinch
Pistachio for decoration
Method
Mix all above ingredients thoroughly.Cook it in microwave for 3 minutes, at every 1 minute interval mix it well.Mixture has to thicken.Let it cool down .Grease hands with ghee,knead the mixture and shape it.Garnish it with pistachio.

Omapodi / Om podi / Ompodi(Sev)

Ingredients
Besan/kadalai mavu-2 cups
Rice flour-1 cup
Ajwain-6tsp
Salt to taste
Red chilly powder-1tsp
Hing-1/2tsp
Butter melted-1tbsp
Oil-to deep fry
Method
Dry roast ajwain & powder it.Soak the powde in warm water for 1 hrs.Strain (use only the water) & mix all above ingredients together to form a soft dough (this dough will be a bit sticky).Heat oil in a kadai/pan fill the sev press with batter & squeeze it in circles.Fry it till light brown on both sides.Place it on a kitchen paper to remove excess oil.Cool & store it in air tight container.
