Today is my 400th post.........Thought of sharing a rich royal dessert of the Navabs(Mughal Cuisine).
Ingredients for rabdi .
Milk-2 cups
Saffron-a pinch
(boil till it reduces to half & thick)
For Easy version of Rabdi click HERE
Ingredients for sugar syrup
Sugar-6tsp
Water-1/2cup
Cardamom powder-1/4tsp
Saffron-a pinch
(boil everything together for 2 minutes till slightly sticky)
Other ingredients
Whole wheat bread cut into triangles-3slices
(preferably white bread ,trim the ends.Deep fried in ghee)
Chopped nuts fried in ghee-2tbsp
(cashew nut,raisins,pistachio,almonds)
Edible silver foil -1(optional)
Ghee - to fry the bread
Method
Dip each fried bread in warm sugar syrup & place it on a flat serving dish.
Pour the thickened milk mixture on each slice.
Then garnish it with silver foil & nuts.
Left over sugar syrup can be poured on top of the bread ,chill & serve them.
